FII /DII show confusion.

FII investments in our markets are at -1483 crores while the DII's are positive to the tune of 1089.96 crores. When the broad market is on the bearish side, why do our domestic player buy the market? Are they doing bottom fishing? If that is the case, the performance of many mutual funds are worth their value. Most of our domestic mutual funds have portfolios of stocks that are not real growth stories. By holding them, they are in fact reducing the value for their investors.

It is assumed that the fund managers are a better informed lot when compared to the individual investors, but they seem to be more in line with the crowd. Whereas the Foreign counterparts are shrewd enough every time to have taken the right direction. People are better off investing on their own rather than depending on the fund industry to get them into riches.
